I want to be clothed much.

Clothes are a major obsession of mine. I get a kajillion catalogs via Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Domino, (this one is for my weakness for adorable interior design). I also subscribe to Teen Vogue. It seems as if everytime I turn around, new styles and trends, and reborn classics are slapping me in the face. I spend WAY too much time daydreaming about having my "dream wardrobe" and just imagining how perfect life could be if I just had some of those cute peices. I know, I'm really lame.
Annnnyways, due to certain things popping up in my life *cough*wantingtobemarriednextsummer*cough* I really need to cut back on my spending and really work with what I have. I have a terrible habit of never wanting to wear the same outfit twice, so I really need to work on my mix and match skills.
A blog that really really really inspires me is CLOTHED MUCH.
Clothed much is a modest fashion blog that is written by one of the cutest people ever, Elaine. Her writing style, is hillarious, and she really rocks what she has in her wardrobe. She also doesn't spend outrageous amounts of money on clothes either. Which is also inspiring.
Last night at church, Jared talked about how God says not to worry about the clothes that you wear, for clothes will eventually be destroyed one day. I mean really, it's true. Moths are gonna eat all our stuff up once we're gone. Gross. But anyways, his lesson really got me thinking about how I spend way too much time worrying about what I'm wearing, and buying new clothes.
This spring I am going to challenge myself. I don't want to buy anything unless it is completely nessecary, on sale, or if I have a gift card. I also think that it would be good to give the money that I normally would spend on clothes as a tithe to the lord. I think that will be way more of a blessing than having a huge cute wardrobe that eventually will be out of style, and donated to a thrift store.
I don't really want to turn this into a "look at how cute I was today, and what awesome clothes I have" blog, but I think that taking a daily picture of my outfit and posting it will keep the ideas flowing and be a good way for me to appreciate more what I have. The only problem is that I have not yet figured out how to set the timer on my camera, therefore taking a full body shot of myself presents to be a problem. I guess you just have to be smarter than the camera!

good times.

today went along quite swimmingly! I got out of school at 10 a.m. (which by the way is the greatest thing EVER. seriously.) and my mother and I went shopping as planned. We never made it to Borders because we ended up spending waaaaaay more time than we had expected shopping, plus we got slightly mobbed by this saleslady trying to sell us $80.00 lotion...yeah NOT happening.
First off, we hit up the Old Navy because my mom had to return some stuff. Usually I don't find much at Old Navy, so I went in with low expectations. However, they were having this seriously incredible sale! All clearance items were 50% the already marked down price on the tag, which is always good.

I got this super cute coral tank for a  whopping $2.50. I know, I know, I'm a big spender ;)

I got two pairs of these cargo skinnies. One in the above greyish color, and another in black for just $4.50 a pair. AH!

For some reason, I have a weakness for super comfy lounge pants. Especially when they are only $3.00.

I also got a blue and white checkered shirt, a super cute scarf, and the most ADORABLE rainboots that I have ever seen in my life! Though I couldn't find any pictures of those three items...sad day.

We then meandered through Forever 21, where I bought the cutest shirt I have ever seen. (In my humblest opinion of course.)
and of course, I couldn't find a picture of it either. Which is okay, since almost everyone that reads this knows me and sees me sometimes. So you all will get to see me wearing it. Lucky You!! :) tehe, that was a joke.

After those eventful excursions, we went to my deratologist to get a solution to this dreadful acne that has made my face it's home. He prescribed me some pills and gave me this little tube of stuff. hopefully it works. or I will die. again, that was a joke. I am just full of laughs today!
This appointment led me to go to the Clinique counter in Dillards, because I need to get some super light weight makeup due to my stupid skin being extremely sensitive and fair. In fact I am so albino,(or "porcelain" as the nice self-esteem inducing saleslady at the counter says) that even the lightest of shades that Clinique carries is to dark for my face.

I present to you, Exhibit A. And let me tell you, that stuff is WHITE. so sad for me. I guess I'll have to go check out the MAC counter and see what they have to offer.
Darn you fair and pocelain *cough*albino*cough* skin! Because of you, I can't just trot off to Wal-Mart and by inexpensive makeup like normal people.

well that was all the comings and goings of the day. Now I am sitting at work in an empty lab, basically getting paid to sit here and blog. Yay me!

hello hello.

At the begining of semester, work is so frustratingly boring.
I got here at 8:15, and I'll be here till 2:15. Lucky Me.
I really hate Tuesdays/Thursdays with all my heart. After I work, I go straight to my 2:30 Macroeconomics class, then to my 4:00 spanish class, and finally to my 6:00 to 8:30 graphic design class. So basically I'm here at OTC for 12 hours and 15 minutes on these days. FUN FUN!
I really like Monday, Wednesday, Fridays a whole lot better!
Tomorrow, my last class gets out a 10:00 am, and my mom and I are going to the south side because I have a dermatologist appointment. Usually I dread appointments with any kind of doctor, but this one I am actually looking forward to. I am SO SICK of acne. It really just ruins my days.
Anyways, while we are out and about, I hope to get a little shopping done :)
My boss gave me a borders gift card for christmas, and I think I'm gonna get this little gem of a book...

also , I have like ZERO shoes that I actually like right now. The last pair of shoes I bought were at Target, on sale for $5, right before school started.
All my other shoes are super old, and smell kinda ranky.
This being said, I am going to buy shoes, and not feel guilty about spending money on myself, woo hoo! :)

curly hair.

lately, I my hair has not been cooperating.
but today I think it turned out really well! :)

Today I'm gonna go cheer on the guard at MSU and then my family is going to a dinner with some family friends in Ozark. Which should be interesting... the girl that is my age thinks that I'm a big nerd, so she pretty much ignores me the entire time usually.
should be fun.

new semester and wedding wednesday.

so yesterday declared the start of a new semester.
I am less than thrilled. My classes are okay, but they aren't as great as my classes last semester.  In all my classes but one, I am the only person under 20. Everybody keeps on asking me if I'm engaged, and this older lady in my english class gave me this huge lecture on the horrors of being engaged while I'm still in college. The whole class overheard this convo, which lead me into a speech about how it is not an engagement ring, but a promise ring.
Ugh, people.
I'm going to try and keep my chin up though, and persever through my school work and remain attentive.

on a brighter note...wedding wednesday!

I LOVE how this is all DIY. I'm not really loving the dark icing, but I'm definitely leaning towards separate cakes most likely in multiple colors.

this is a super cute way to do a contemporary guest book. again, completely DIY.

I love this style of dress. It's simple and elegant and has a bit of whimsy to it.

I know that a wedding is a little while off, but I think that posting my huge collection of pictures will help , me get more of a grasp of what I want.

winter guard and a Mac.

today has been absolutely wonderful.
First, I went to Winter Guard practice, to help out Jessi since Brooke and Zach were gone. It was SO fun. I miss doing guard so much, so it was a wonderful experience to be able to help out. The girls have a beautiful show too! There song is "Home" by Vanessa Carlton. It reminds me so much of our "Breathe Me" by Sia show. Ahhhh it's so good. And for helping out today, I get a free ticket to next Saturdays competition! Which is oh so exciting because those competitions are so exciting! Plus, I got to spend some time with Melissa which was really great. :)
When I got home, the Apple delivery guy was dropping off out brand new Mac! I'm so excited about that too!
Well, I'm off to practice piano, and later I'm going over to Tylers.
I hope you al have a great weekend! :)

Eeeep!

I just ordered Tylers Valentines Day gift! I hope it's not to cheesy, or cliche, or lame, or whatever.
This is my first Valentines Day with a Valentine, so it's not like I have any huge experience or anything. Before Tyler, I wore black on Valentines, and proclaimed it to be a "holiday made by Hallmark and Godiva so they could sell outrageously expensive cards and chocolate for no reason." whiiiich, it still is but I think that I will like the holiday more now.
Also, Valentines Day is just a really special day for me and Tyler. We officially met last year on Valentines Day, so I wanted to get him something to make it special. I hope he likes it! :)

Cupcakes, Church, and Applebees.

wednesday was a lovely day.
Brianna, Me, and my mom all went to Neighborhood Pizza for lunch (they have THE BEST toasted ravioli in the WORLD) and then Brianna and I went to Red Velvet to look at vintage that we will never afford, and to get some tasty cupcakes. Usually we eat ours there, but yesterday we decided to each get two and bring them home to share the love. We are so sweet, hahaha :) The cupcakes that I got were Snickerdoodle and of course Red Velvet. DELISH. The Snickerdoodle cupcake tasted just like a snickerdoodle cookie. Crazy Right? It was so good.
After that I came home and chilled out for a while, and then I went to church.
Tyler preached for the youth service, and he did a fantastic job! His message was called "God Loves My Dirt" it was all about how everyone is created from dirt ( In Genesis, it talks about how man were created from the dust of the ground a.k.a dirt.) and that God plants a gift inside all of the dirt, and its our job to cultivate that gift and let it grow so you can use it for christ. He also talked about reading your bible and praying, so you are able to witness to your friends and kids at school.
His whole message hit me pretty hard. I guess that you could say that playing piano is my "talent". And I really do anything but use it for the lord. I took piano lessons from preschool to sophomore year. I played for the church a few times, and only then it was because I was forced to. Playing in front of big crowds is really terrifying to me. It always has been. But Tylers message showed me that as long as I pray for the strength to play in front of big crowds, and let Gods love be shown through my music, that everything will be fine.
After that, I went upstairs for the college service. worship was AMAZING. so good. Dustin talked about Paul, and how he was always praising God, even in the hard times. Paul is such an inspiration.
After church and big bunch of us went to Applebees because of their half off apetizers after 10. I got boneless wings, and they were really good. Plus I got to spend some time with friends that I haven't talked to in a super long while, so it was fun!
Today, my mom is at a staff meeting, so I got up early to drop Troy off at school. I think I'll watch an episode of 10 Things I Hate About You, and then clean up my room a bit. And then when my mom gets home we are going to start making home made chinese food! Woooooo :)

restless.

All of winter break I have been SO lazy.
I've slept till 10 almost every day, and after that I have read books, and watched tv shows on hulu.
All of this realing an tv watching has made me so ready for school to start...buuuut not really. Once it starts back I will probably be back to my regular complaining.

This year has started great. I'm really excited about all the things that it will bring. Melissa and I had lunch together on Friday, and it made me really happy. We talked for two hours, just catching up and mending our friendship. It was nice :)

Today my mom and I went to OTC to get my new books. Thanks to my band scholarship I didn't have to pay anything, and I still have $200 left over! After that we went to Classified Fashions, which is a resale store, so I could sell some of the clothes that I cleaned out of my closet. Usually they don't buy that much stuff, but they bought a little over half of what I brought, and I got $60 for it! Woooo Hoooo :)

I wish I was compelled to blog more often, though lately it seems that I have absolutely nothing to talk about. I'm the reason for this is because I've been doing nothing worth talking about...like reading and watching tv shows...wow.

Oh, and also I started and Tumblr. I think I'm going to use it to post all the pictures that I find that I like and stuff, and occasionally I'll post some on here. You should go visit it, and then make one too. Because it's so cool to have a tumblr. Obvi. CLICK HERE TO VISIT MY TUMBLR. but you don't have to. :)

I'm not really one to set New Years resolutions.
Goals quite honestly scare me a little, because if I don't acieve them, then I have failed. AndI DO NOT like failing.
However, this year I am throwing everything that I believe in to the wind, and I am setting a New Years resolutions. Gasp!Oooooo Ahhhhhh.

My resolution is to be a more forgiving person, To not hold my grudges, and to actually talk to people if I am upset with them, even for the stupidest of reasons.
My stubborness and grudge holding got in the way of a really strong friendship last year, and I've just now gotten around to opening up to the actual friend about it. It was kinda hard to do, but I'm really really glad that I did it, I feel SO MUCH better!

So heres to a new year with revived friendships :)

hum dee hum

so last night was definitely the best new year ever!
I was with my favorite people of all time, we played apples to apples and some Just Dance 2.
Ryan and Tyler had the most heated game of chess that I have ever seen.
It was crazy.

Today I was at Tylers, and we watched Inception.
Now I'm afraid to go to sleep for fear that my dreams will be hijacked.

Also, I have Ke$ha stuck in my head.

Troy and I have such fun with my web cam.
He is the cutest thing EVER!
